Let me give you a brief update on what happened.
The Podcast hit the Apple Charts in Q4/2021
The good news first:
In December 2021, Apple recognized our Podcast, and it appeared in the Top 20 in several countries of the world in the categories Business & Entrepreneurship. Amongst them:
#8 in Switzerland 12/2021
#10 in Luxembourg 12/2021
#14 in Austria 12/2021
#19 in Sweden 12/2021
#19 in Colombia 11/2021
How did that happen?
The New Content Marketing Strategy Pays Off
In Summer, the LSG2G-Podcast-Team came across the Gary Vaynerchuk Social Media Content Marketing Model that we wanted to try out.
The core of this strategy is to create video clips from the podcast content and constantly put it on social media platforms like LinkedIn, YouTube, and other media.
Since the team put the strategy into practice, the downloads and views skyrocketed on all platforms, and the Podcast hit the Top 20 on Apple.
The key benefit for speakers is that the distributed macro and micro-content is fed into the AI Engines of Platforms like Google. Whenever someone searches for the speaker and their organizations, the engines offer the created content in the search results.
As a result, the Podcast's audio and video content help the speaker get more attention on social media and search results at Google, YouTube, or LinkedIn.
The Podcast Team also started to build a network of distribution partners to deliver content to existing communities worldwide.
The Timing is Right
One of the objections I heard often is:
But aren’t just kids on social media? It doesn’t work in the B2B world.
With the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020, the behavior of decision-makers in all industries changed. Everybody met at conferences or strengthened existing business relationships in real-life one-to-one meetings in the traditional world.
When I talk with decision-makers today, three critical responses pop up constantly:
When researching solutions, people use search engines like Google
When decision-makers want to find out more about organizations and their key players, they use google
They are interested to learn more about the organizations and their key personnel from written, video, and audio content
… but I need a specific audience…
… is another objection I read quite frequently. The great thing with social media these days is that it is possible to narrow down the audience to which the content should be delivered using the following dimensions as a minimum:
Region (25 miles radius as a minimum)
Industry
Level of Seniority
Age and Gender
Education
By doing so, the accuracy of a social media marketing campaign is extremely high. Combined with Audio/Video-Content and a sound Call to Action, it produces the results we saw in December 2022 in the Apple Charts.
